Barbara Marquis is an artist who lives and works in Kalamazoo, Michigan. She has enjoyed drawing her entire life, but has worked as a freelance illustrator and artist for the last seven years. Although her work displays the realistic quality of photography, each image is hand-drawn with watercolor and colored pencils.

Barbara received her Bachelors degree in Graphic Design from Western Michigan University in 1984. After graduation, she practiced her talent while employed in various design positions throughout Michigan. These jobs led to a move to New York City in 1995, where she became an Art Director for a major publishing company.

Most recently Barbara has worked with American Girl drawing characters for a Molly pop-up book and a Molly Activity Book.
